Candace Zanini ~ Owner/Instructor

Candace has over 20 years of ballroom and Latin dance instruction experience. She began her career with Arthur Murray Dance School in Ontario at the early age of 18 as an instructor and competitor in the American Style Latin Division.

Her other passion, travel, combined with her love for people drew her to a life on the high seas working for Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines where she quickly advanced to the position of Cruise Director.  It was here that she met her husband Aiden, truly making it the “Love Boat”. 

Candace is proud to now call the West Coast home where she has realized her dream of owning her own dance school, Caydance Studios.

Doris Fassbender ~ Office Manager/Instructor

Our resident Line Dance expert, Doris adds a wonderful sparkle to our studio.  Doris comes to us with years of experience from performing with “The Country Kickin’ Dancers”, a not-for-profit society that donated all their performance proceeds to various charities while performing at festivals, parades and special events.  Doris started with Candace back in 2006 and since retiring from the City of New Westminster in 2009, she has been committed to making our students feel welcome and at home.

Julie Courchesne ~ Instructor

Julie originally hails from Quebec. Born into a family of dancers, she had her first pair of dance shoes at the tender age of 7.  She began her career at the Aldor & Andrée Grenier School of Dance in Quebec.  She began competing at 12 and has several gold medals to her credit from both competition and in team training.  Julie also branched out into, and combined several styles such as Ballet, Hip Hop, and Lyrical. With 20 years of dance experience, Julie has learned discipline, self-confidence and the transcendence of dance and it is this passion that Julie brings to our dance family at Caydance Studios.

Sandra Varley-Shlienz ~ Marketing Coordinator

After ten years as a stay-at-home mom, Sandra dances back into the workforce as our Marketing Co-ordinator.  Life before kids included software training and technical writing but, surprisingly, very little dancing.  This all changed after attending one of Candace’s LatinFit classes six years ago. 

Sandra now attends at least four dance classes a week.  She participates in Caydance Latin and Line dance performances whenever she can and is now attending ballroom couples classes.  She hopes to one day lead a daytime LatinFit class, but in the meantime Sandra is content to focus the creative side of her brain spreading the word about Caydance Studios.

Aiden Zanini ~ Co-Owner

Aiden is our in-house tech-support.  From maintaining our website, to building the studio (with help!), from creating our brochures and posters, to recording and photographing our dances, Aiden operates behind the scenes except when his DJ duties call him to the stage to rock the tunes for our dancers or to help Candace teach a class or two.
